Bollywood bad boy Salman Khan recently received a fresh threat to die in connection with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang with which he has been at loggerheads for some time now. The last threat has been delivered through a WhatsApp message where the Mumbai Traffic Police was threatened to receive a bullet if ₹5 crore was not paid to stop the shooting. This message forms just a thread of threats that Bishnoi has been using to threaten Khan following a promise to avenge the 1998 blackbuck poaching case that Khan was involved. The Bishnoi community, which has great regard for blackbuck or nilgai, pearl of Rajestan’s fauna, has looked at Khan with utter contempt since his conviction in the case.
Currently in prison, Lawrence Bishnoi has been heard saying in public that he wants to kill the actor. His group has been accused of being involved in various acts of violence among them the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala in the year 2022, and this group has time and again attacked Khan. The events unfolded in April this year when gunmen started firing at the residence of Khan in Mumbai but no one was harmed. Followed a sequence of number of letters and messages threatening him one of which stated that Khan will meet the same fate as Moose Wala if he did not cooperate with the assailants. Mumbai Police have been on the edge as this particular threat emerged and they have been go through the security of Khan and enhancing it.
