The Adani Group and Google signed a clean energy partnership that will power India’s grid using a solar wind hybrid project in the Indian State of Gujarat. This partnership is a step forward for Google to further its carbon-free energy objectives while adding to Adani’s footprint in renewable energy.
The Adani Group and Google announced a collaboration today that will help each company advance its collective sustainability goals and add more clean energy to India’s grid. According to the agreement, Adani will supply clean energy from a new 2,450 MW solar-wind hybrid project located in the world’s largest renewable energy plant at Khavda in Gujarat. The project is scheduled to be commissioned by the third quarter of 2025.
Adani is very well poised to provide customized solutions of renewable energy to commercial and industrial (C&I) customers by helping them meet their energy requirements and reducing their carbon footprint. Adani’s focus in the merchant and C&I segments will further look at helping industries decarbonize going forward.
This innovative cooperation will help accelerate Google’s 24/7 carbon-free energy goal by ensuring that cloud services and operations in India are powered by clean energy and thus contribute to the sustainable growth of Google in India.
