Suicide case of student in Meerut: Brahmin community demonstrated at ADG office, made serious allegations against the minister

In Phaphunda, Meerut, the Brahmin community has come together on a shocking problem related to a class 11 student who allegedly committed suicide after her objectionable video went viral. Widespread demonstrations are being held by the Brahman community in association with 18 other organizations including Tyagi community in Meerut.

On Sunday, protestors convened at the ADG’s office, with several important personalities including Mangoram Tyagi, the national president of Tyagi-Brahmin-Bhumihar community heading the demonstration. Congress party’s political leaders and other Brahmin representatives also participated in the protest. They claimed that a BJP minister is protecting the accused in this case and demanded justice. Protestors appealed to the ADG to file serious charges against the MLA involved and demanded immediate arrest of all accused.

Mangoram Tyagi, who sat in protest, targeted the Uttar Pradesh chief minister for ignoring Meerut. He alleged that ministers and MLAs are already in the business of illegal land grabbing and now they have started patronizing criminals too. “A similar incident had occurred with a girl from our (Tyagi) community earlier. This time they (the accused) pushed her to the limit,” he said, demanding strict action against all the accused.

Mangoram Tyagi makes out with the so-called ‘Jhotta gang’, which he describes as the defiler of lives of young girls. 30 to 35 young men are reportedly said to have been involved in this gang who target teenage girls and young women; trap them and take their obscene photographs and videos, later used for demanding unreasonable undesired intimate involvement. If refused, these private photos and videos are posted on the internet to defile names of the subjects. He demanded immediate nabbing of these people from Mori gate area.

As reported by the family of the victim, one of the three accused persons Shadab is still on loose, the members of community have said that they will continue to fight until justice is serve to this grieving family. A protest was also staged at Gandhi Ashram Chowk. Initially the police arrested Ankur Kasana (one of the three accused) only and two others were let off, though there are four accused persons in this case. After further pressure now Ayush Kasana and Ujjwal kasana have been arrested by police and are sent to Jail.

After hearing slogans outside his house, the ADG Dhruvkant Thakur arrived at the spot and spoke to the protesters.The community demanded security for the family of victim, suspension of station in charge, departmental inquiry in the matter, name all accused in FIR and action against Maharajpur police who were trying to pressurize for doing settlement.
