Jammu & Kashmir News: ‘Zero Tolerance to Terrorism’: Yogi Adityanath’s Stance Ahead of J&K Elections

In anticipation of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections scheduled for 2024, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath warned Pakistan and India’s domestic sympathizers that India under Modi has zero-tolerance for terrorism. These remarks came after Adityanath had gone to Jammu and Kashmir for supporting the elections to the BJP party.

It will be applicable to note, in his speech, Adityanath claimed that today’s India is not the same as yesterday. He reiterated the country will not permit any environment of terrorism to develop, be it internally or in the neighboring country. His comments were specifically aimed at Pakistan-based militants who, over the years, have been blamed for fomenting trouble in the Kashmir valley. “This is a new India, which does not tolerate terrorism”, Adityanath said, as he declared to send a clear warning to those planning to disrupt the peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

It was also used as an occasion to bash opposition parties, the CM of UP Adityanath claiming that they had been using Jammu and Kashmir to score self-serving political points. He said that the Congress, the National Conference (NC) and the PDP have reduced the region into a political football and have shown little regard for the welfare of the people. He noted that these parties nurtured corruption and instability and that is why there was no real development in this region.

He compared this to the BJP strategy, focusing on the major actions that the Modi government has taken after the scrapping of Article 370 in August 2019. Adityanath also underlined new avenues of infrastructural development, investment and new job positions which are coming up in Jammu and Kashmir to power a new era of development. He enumerated steps to link Jammu and Kashmir deeply into the noble goal of India development framework to achieve growth and security in the region.

In his concluding speech, while endorsing the prospect of development if the BJP is voted back to power, chief minister Yogi Adityanath promised to bolster Jammu and Kashmir, and ensure the territorial integrity of the region. He asked the voters to give their votes to that party who wants their lives and progress well, and said the next election could be a turning point for the region. Thus, he said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir could ensure that BJP secures victory in the state, free from terrorism and opening for a prosperous phase.
