On September 25,2024, BeerBiceps YouTuber and contents creator, Ranveer Allahbadia, lost his two main YouTube channels due to a major cyberattack. They also seized control of his BeerBiceps channel, changing its name to “@Elon.trump.tesla_live2024” and his personal channel, which is now “@Tesla.event.trupm_2024. In addition to the rebranding, they removed all of his interviews, podcasts and videos and replaced them with older live streams of Elon Musk and Trump.
Allahbadia who has gained a huge following of about 12 million subscribers across seven YouTube channels) took to Instagram (beer biceps insta post) to share his disgust. He first said he was in Singapore but then clarified he was in Mumbai at the time of hacking. Nevertheless, he was not too serious about it on his social media post as much as it must have been alarming. Pondering over a pint of vegan burger, which he posted on Instagram, he wrote, ‘Celebrating my two main channels being hacked with my favorite food.’ Vegan burgers. Death of BeerBiceps went hand in hand with Death of diet.” He also posted a picture of him wearing an eye mask with this caption: is this the end of my YouTube channel? Was nice knowing you all.”

Ranveer Allahbadia, a content creator joined the YouTube platform at the age of 22 by creating his first channel named BeerBiceps. Since then, he has emerged as one of the biggest digital influencers from India with a multi niche managing many channels that encompass fitness, lifestyle, mental health and business. He is not just YouTube, but also using other social media platforms actively including having a podcast called “The Ranveer Show.”
This is not a unique case, especially considering that last year India’s Supreme Court YouTube channel was also hacked. Such a large-scale and gutsy assault on randos like Musk and the former President of the United States indicate that cybercriminals are going for the biggest fish and the most important institutions.
Nonetheless, it is still awaited what backlash Ranveer Allahbadia will face from this situation. Considering his entrepreneurial characteristics and a vast circle of subscribers, they still have expectations for him to regain the channels. The event also raises the aging issue of the need for more vigorous protective measures against cyberattacks mainly for popular broadcast influencers.
