Sleep Deprivation Can Result In Liver Damage; Know Your Symptoms For Early Prevention

Good sleep is very important to health. There are those who have realized that sleep disturbance affects the liver badly. The overall effects of sleep disturbance result in this factor significantly raising the risk of liver cirrhosis, thereby also causing a dangerous condition that is liver failure.

Any disturbance in sleep will badly affect the liver. There will be more chances to increase the risk of liver cirrhosis if good sleep is not obtained for a long time. NAFLD is also linked with sleep, according to research conducted at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China.

This study shows that a relationship between healthy patterns of sleeping and cirrhosis risk occurred among non-alcoholic fatty liver patients. Throughout the course of the study, it was found that approximately 112,196 of these non-alcoholic fatty liver patients had poor sleeping patterns associated with a risk of developing cirrhosis. According to Hepatology International, the advantages of good sleep were also related to people having low or high genetic risk.

Sleep Disturbances Could Cause Cirrhosis Of The Liver

The persons suffering from long-term sleep disturbances show a higher risk of cirrhosis. The term cirrhosis is defined as the condition where the diseased state of the liver persists for a long time. As time passes, scarring tissues start appearing in the liver. These scars hamper the functionality of the liver. If this condition persists for a long time, the risk of liver failure also increases.

What is cirrhosis of the liver?

Liver cirrhosis is a type of chronic disease. It develops due to long-term damage to the liver. When liver cirrhosis occurs, the healthy tissues of the liver start dying and the liver stops functioning properly. Many symptoms are seen in the body when liver cirrhosis occurs.

  • Loss of appetite
  • Very tired
  • Having jaundice
  • Weight Loss
  • Itching
  • Fluid buildup in the abdomen
  • Darkening of urine color
  • Hair loss
  • Bleeding nose

  • Memory problems
