Jammu and Kashmir News: Three Terrorists Killed in Baramulla After Two Soldiers Die in Kishtwar Encounter

Three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces during a major NET operation carried out in the valley of Jammu & Kashmir Baramulla district on Saturday. This development has come a day after two Indian army jawans were killed in an operation at Kishtwar cited increasing tension prior to PM Narendra Modi visit to the area.

Context: The Security Operation in Kishtwar

Two soldiers of the Indian Army were killed while fighting with terrorists in Kishtwar area of Jammu on Friday only a day before PM Modi’s proposed visit to Doda. The encounter escalates an already sensitive security operation area; as the security forces open the search manhunt to arrest the terrorists involved.

Baramulla Encounter: This paper is on how the war on terror has been handled and a very important part of this war is neutralization of terrorists.

The operation was conducted by the security forces in Baramulla in which three terrorists were killed on Saturday morning. The operation was conducted based on the inputs that there are terrorists in the area. As such, the Baramulla encounter is being viewed as one of the vital operations in the anti-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Prime Minister is likely to go to Doda district today the following his poll campaign in the Jammu and Kashmir area. However, after the up gradation of the security measures, the two occurrences in Kishtwar and Baramulla have increased the security concerns which in turn has increased vigil of the armed forces. The police forces have been put on standby to guarantee the protection of PM Modi’s trip while keeping on confronting any possible terrorist danger in the region.

Government Response

The government is following it’s developments closely and security forces are upping the ante for the neutralization of possible threats. These operations are taking place amid fresh concern over militant activities in the Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir, a frontier which has been bearing the brunt of cross-border terrorism. The ongoing operations claim the life of two soldiers in Kishtwar and the country is mourning on it, on the other side, security forces are also working hard to ensure the continuation of peace and security of the region especially during the visit of the PM Modi because his visit gives strategic importance to the overall security structure.

One immediate operation in Kishtwar and the other right behind it, in Baramulla, indicate that the problem of terrorism is still active in Jammu and Kashmir. Nonetheless, the timely intervention by the Indian Army and other security forces keeps proving their intention to counter such threats as was perceived in the course of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the region.
