Sikh Prakoshth Members of BJP Delhi protested against the Lok Sabha LoP and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s shameful statement on the Sikh community outside his residence.
The protesters demanded an apology for the distasteful comments on SIKHS by Rahul Gandhi during his speech in the US held a protest in front of Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi’s residence near 10 Janpath, New Delhi today.
Sikh Prakoshth of BJP Delhi, including women, were holding placards and raising slogans. They attempted to move to 10 Janpath, the residence of Gandhi, but were halted by police while moving from Vigyan Bhawan.
BJP leader RP Singh said, “You know, Rahul Gandhi should apologize.” He utilized the foreign land to malign India and make a statement about Sikhs that Sikhs are not allowed to wear turbans and go to Guru.
Calling themselves ‘Sikh for Justice’, they chanted anti-Gandhi slogans and called for his apology for the alleged ‘dehumanization of Sikhs.’ They also blamed the Congress party for the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in India.
The BJP has criticized Gandhi over his remarks made in the United States about the Sikh community, stating that the Congress leader is trying to develop a ‘negative perception’ by talking on the ‘emotionally charged issues’ outside the country.
Speaking to several hundred Indian Americans in Washington, DC, on Monday, Gandhi targeted the RSS for thinking some religions, languages, and communities were superior to others and said that what is happening in India is not political; it is this battle.
Once during a program, Gandhi inquired the name of one of the Sikh people sitting in the front rows. He said, “Sister, tell me, what is your name, brother with the turban?
‘The fight is about whether a Sikh is going to be allowed to wear his turban in India or a kada in India. Or he, as a Sikh, is going to be able to abide to go to a gurdwara’, stated Gandhi. “And not just for him, for all religions.
