Jammu & Kashmir News: BSF Assures: Borders Fully Secured Ahead of J&K Assembly Elections

The assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are around the corner and the BSF has said that the border is sensitized and all precautionary measures are in place to foil any attempt by the terrorists to hold a sway over the polls. BSF Inspector General of Jammu Frontier, D K Boora, said this on Tuesday when interacting with the media in Bhadra, Doda district. This region inside seven other districts including 24 assembly segments in south Kashmir and the Chenab valley is in the first phase of polls on September 18.

Counter-Infiltration Measures

IG D K Boora pointed to the fact that adequate measures in terms of counter infiltration measures have been put in place along the border to ensure that militant groups do not infiltrate from Pakistan. The BSF with other security Operation has stepped up the vigil along the LoC and the International border. He said that hi-tech surveillance equipment’s, drones, and night vision devices are being employed to keep vigil along the border areas 24/7.

The Inspector General also explained regarding the intelligence inputs used in foiling infiltration attempts saying that through deployment with the local police, the security forces are helping in countering any such threat. He said that the BSF is ready to meet whatever challenges that may come during this election period.
