In the past few years, Kupwara has been a district, where terrorists tried to infiltrate into the Indian Territory on several occasions. As it has been pointed out earlier, the given district is on the infiltration map of the militants, which means that the security forces must be ever alert and take swift action at the latest opportunity.
After the operation, the security forces searched the area to check whether there are other terrorists present or some of them had tried to flee. The other involved terrorists’ bodies were also retrieved, and the continuing attempts are being made to establish their identity and groups they belonged to.
This Operation is in line with other operations carried out by the Indian security forces aimed at check-point infiltration attempts and neutralizing of terrorists operating in the area. The Indian Army & J-K Police have been carrying out combined patrols in some circular zones especially along the Line of Control for regulating peace & order in J & K.
