In a significant declaration, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted that for the first time since independence, farmers became an integral part of the country’s political agenda in 2014. Speaking at the PM Kisan Samman Sammelan, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance, Adityanath highlighted various initiatives introduced by the Modi government aimed at boosting farmers’ incomes and enhancing their livelihoods.
Adityanath enumerated several schemes, including the Soil Health Card and the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, emphasizing their positive outcomes. “When Prime Minister Modi assumed office for the third time, his immediate priority was to endorse a file dedicated to the welfare of farmers. Today, millions of farmers are reaping the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi,” Adityanath stated.
The Chief Minister emphasized the transformative impact of Modi’s leadership on the agrarian sector, marking a historical shift in political priorities. “For the first time in 62 years, a leader has brought about sweeping changes across all societal segments through dedicated work and has been sworn in as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive term, reflecting his immense popularity,” he remarked.
Adityanath lauded Modi as the “illustrious son of maa Ganga,” crediting him with elevating India’s global stature. He also noted the remarkable transformation of Varanasi over the past decade. “In the last 10 years, not only have thousands of crores of rupees been invested in Kashi’s rejuvenation, but the world has also seen it transform into a new form. The common people’s faith and devotion towards Kashi have also strengthened,” he said.
The event also saw addresses from other notable figures, including Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi. The occasion was graced by UP Governor Anandiben Patel, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, and UP BJP chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, along with other senior leaders.
Adityanath’s remarks underscored a historic pivot in Indian politics, where the welfare of farmers has become a central focus. The implementation of comprehensive schemes under Modi’s leadership has evidently started to bear fruit, transforming the socio-economic landscape for farmers and reflecting a dedicated commitment to their upliftment
