NBCC Secures Rs 70 Crore Contract for Grid-India’s New Corporate Office Interiors

State-owned NBCC (India) Ltd has secured a significant Rs 70 crore contract from Grid Controller of India Ltd (Grid-India) to execute interior works for Grid-India’s new corporate office located in Ayurvigyan Nagar, New Delhi. The project, encompassing a range of interior, fit-out, and associated infrastructure works, marks a crucial collaboration between these two entities.

In an official statement, NBCC announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Grid-India for this project. The MoU outlines the scope of work and sets the tentative project value at approximately Rs 70 crore. This agreement was formalized by Alok Kumar, Senior General Manager of Grid-India, and Mudit Bhatnagar, Chief General Manager (Engineering) of NBCC, in the presence of prominent officials including S R Narasimhan, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Grid-India, and K P Mahadevaswamy, CMD of NBCC. Also present were B K Sokhey, Director (Finance) of NBCC, Saleem Ahmad, Director (Projects) of NBCC, and other senior representatives from both organizations.

This interior works contract follows Grid-India’s acquisition of the office space from NBCC. Grid-India had previously purchased this new office, spanning approximately 61,000 square feet, for a transaction value of around Rs 270 crore. Entrusting NBCC with the responsibility to furnish and equip the office underscores the strong professional relationship between the two entities.

NBCC (India) Ltd, well-regarded for its expertise in project management consultancy (PMC) and real estate, is expected to bring its vast experience and technical know-how to ensure the timely and efficient completion of this interior project. NBCC’s portfolio includes numerous prestigious projects across various sectors, highlighting its capabilities in managing complex infrastructure and interior works.

The new corporate office at Ayurvigyan Nagar will serve as the central hub for Grid-India’s operations. Grid-India, responsible for national load dispatch, plays a critical role in managing the country’s electricity grid, ensuring the smooth and efficient distribution of power across regions. The new office is anticipated to enhance Grid-India’s operational efficiency and provide a modern and well-equipped workspace for its employees.

The collaboration between NBCC and Grid-India is a testament to the synergies that can be achieved through strategic partnerships between public sector enterprises. This project not only signifies NBCC’s robust project management skills but also reflects Grid-India’s commitment to creating a state-of-the-art working environment for its staff.

As NBCC embarks on this Rs 70 crore project, the focus will be on delivering high-quality interior works that meet the specific needs and standards of Grid-India. The project is expected to involve meticulous planning and execution, incorporating modern design elements and the latest infrastructure technologies.

In summary, the Rs 70 crore contract awarded to NBCC by Grid-India for the interior works of its new corporate office in New Delhi marks a significant milestone in their ongoing collaboration. With NBCC’s proven track record in project management and Grid-India’s strategic importance in the national power grid, this partnership is set to deliver a landmark corporate office that supports Grid-India’s critical operations.
