The flood situation in Assam has significantly worsened, with nearly 200,000 people, including 36,000 children, severely impacted across nine districts. The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) reports a grim scenario, as the deluge claims lives, inundates villages, and displaces thousands.

Tragically, one woman lost her life in the Lala revenue circle area of Hailakandi district after drowning in floodwaters. This incident highlights the severe and life-threatening nature of the floods plaguing the region.

Cachar district stands as the most affected, with over 102,000 people suffering due to the floods. Karimganj district follows, with nearly 37,000 people impacted. The scope of the disaster extends across 386 villages within 22 revenue circles, spanning Nagaon, Hojai, Cachar, Karimganj, Hailakandi, Golaghat, Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, and Dima Hasao districts.
