Microsoft India Sees Surge in AI Adoption: Over 500 Companies Embrace GenAI

Microsoft India’s managing director, Irina Ghose, has described the current phase of AI and generative AI (GenAI) adoption in India as one of the most exciting periods in her 22-year tenure with the company. At a recent event for the launch of the Work Trend Index in collaboration with LinkedIn, Ghose shared insights into the AI momentum among Indian businesses.

“This has been a great phase. I keep saying that I’ve been in Microsoft for about 22 years, but this is the best phase that anybody would be having,” Ghose told Business Standard.

According to Ghose, around 500 Indian companies have adopted Azure OpenAI across various industries, including banking, insurance, healthcare, education, and technology. This widespread adoption signifies a substantial shift towards embracing AI-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency and innovation.
