Ex-BharatPe CPO Ankur Jain Ventures into Healthcare with GenAI Startup Jivi AI

Months after departing from the fintech giant BharatPe, Ankur Jain, former Chief Product Officer (CPO), has unveiled his latest venture in the healthcare domain. Jain’s new startup, Jivi AI, is set to leverage generative AI (GenAI) to revolutionize healthcare outcomes for billions of people worldwide.

Announced via a LinkedIn post, Jain expressed his vision for Jivi AI, emphasizing its commitment to utilizing generative AI to enhance healthcare outcomes for a global audience of 8 billion individuals. Jivi AI boasts an interdisciplinary team comprising physicians, data scientists, engineers, and designers, many of whom hail from Ivy League colleges, all dedicated to harnessing AI to reshape healthcare.

According to the startup’s LinkedIn page, Jivi AI was established in December 2023, with Jain serving as its co-founder and CEO. The team comprises 16 members, including former BharatPe employees such as Alok Srivastava, Saurabh Kumar, and Rajat Jain.

As Jivi AI begins its journey, there is anticipation regarding the services it will offer. Inc42 has reached out to Ankur Jain for further insights, and the article will be updated accordingly upon receiving a response.

This development follows Jain’s departure from BharatPe, where he served for 3.5 years, initially as CPO and later as Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO). Notably, Jain’s venture into AI with Jivi AI marks a return to familiar territory, as he previously co-founded and led Instalocate, a California-based startup offering AI-powered assistance for various tasks, including health prediction, meeting scheduling, and travel management.

Jain joins a growing list of former BharatPe executives who have ventured into entrepreneurship. Recently, Ashneer Grover, former MD of BharatPe, launched lending tech startup ZeroPe, focusing on medical loans up to INR 5 Lakh, following the success of his previous venture, CrickPe, a fantasy cricket app. Additionally, former CTO Vijay Aggarwal launched CubeAPM in January 2023, while other former executives initiated ventures like GenWise, a lifestyle app for the elderly, and OTPless, a fintech SaaS platform.

Jain’s re-entry into the AI sector coincides with a significant surge in investments in the Indian GenAI market. Startups like Krutrim AI, Vodex, Arya.AI, and SydeLabs have secured substantial funding in recent months. Projections indicate that the Indian GenAI market is set to surpass $17 billion by 2030, witnessing remarkable growth from $1.1 billion in 2023.

As Jivi AI takes its place in this vibrant startup ecosystem, Ankur Jain’s vision for AI-driven healthcare promises to be a significant contributor to the transformation of healthcare delivery and outcomes on a global scale.
