MP CM Yadav Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Contesting Rae Bareli Seat out of Fear of Defeat

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi, accusing the Congress leader of changing his constituency from Wayanad to Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli out of fear of defeat. Gandhi, who currently represents Wayanad in Kerala, faced defeat in Amethi in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, losing the seat to Union Minister Smriti Irani.

Yadav, in a press statement, remarked, “Rahul Gandhi ran to Kerala last time after losing from Amethi, now he is running to Rae Bareli seeing the possibility of defeat in Wayanad. He will face defeat from Rae Bareli also.”

During the previous elections, Gandhi contested from both Amethi and Wayanad seats. While he secured victory in Wayanad, he lost Amethi to Smriti Irani, who Yadav praised for her excellent work over the past five years. Yadav also noted that Congress lost deposits on four out of five assembly seats in Amethi.

Yadav’s criticism of Gandhi comes amidst a charged atmosphere in Uttar Pradesh, with the BJP claiming strong support for a third term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Yadav, who recently held a roadshow in Amethi with BJP candidate Smriti Irani, emphasized the BJP’s confidence in breaking past records in the state.

The MP Chief Minister highlighted the charisma of PM Modi through

out Uttar Pradesh and predicted a resounding victory for the BJP. He asserted that people would respond fittingly to the Congress for obstructing development and undermining Modi’s efforts.

Yadav’s remarks reflect the intense political competition ahead of the upcoming elections, with both the BJP and Congress strategizing to secure key seats in Uttar Pradesh. The decision of Rahul Gandhi to contest from Rae Bareli indicates the significance of the seat and the challenges he faces in Wayanad.

The BJP’s campaign in Uttar Pradesh is riding high on the popularity of PM Modi, with leaders like Yadav rallying support for the party’s candidates. The Congress, on the other hand, is facing criticism for its candidate selection and perceived vulnerability of its leaders like Rahul Gandhi.

With the election fervor intensifying, Rae Bareli emerges as a crucial battleground where the dynamics of national politics are at play. As parties gear up for the polls, the outcome in Uttar Pradesh will undoubtedly shape the future trajectory of Indian politics.
