Wipro Partners with Independent Health to Revolutionize Medicare Prescription Payment Plan

Wipro, a prominent IT major, has clinched a significant partnership with Independent Health, the sole 5-Star Rated Medicare Advantage Plan in Western New York. The collaboration aims to implement Wipro’s Medicare Prescription Payment Plan platform (MPPP360) for the forthcoming open enrollment period starting in 2025.

This initiative comes as part of a new law designed to enhance access to affordable treatments and fortify Medicare services. The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan will revolutionize the payment structure for prescription drugs, allowing enrollees to make capped monthly payments, among other alterations.

In an exchange filing, Wipro stated that its MPPP360 platform will aid Independent Health in simplifying the payment process and seamlessly integrating the new provisions. This move is expected to streamline prescription cost management for Medicare recipients in Western New York.

Narayan Iyer, Vice President of Healthcare at Wipro Limited, expressed enthusiasm about introducing the MPPP360 platform to the region. He emphasized the project’s significance in transforming the Medicare landscape through innovative technology solutions. “Together with Independent Health, we are committed to enhancing efficiency and convenience for beneficiaries, thereby elevating their healthcare journey,” he stated.

Dawn Odrzywolski, Vice President of Medicare Programs at Independent Health, highlighted the importance of the prescription drug payment program in ensuring members’ access to affordable medications. “With the forthcoming changes to Medicare Part D, and the pharmaceutical industry’s continued escalation of prescription drug pricing, we want to make sure our members can afford their medications,” she stated. Odrzywolski underscored the organization’s dedication to providing innovative solutions to meet varying healthcare needs, supporting their industry-leading 5-Star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for three consecutive years.

This collaboration reflects Wipro’s commitment to leveraging technology for healthcare transformation and Independent Health’s dedication to enhancing member experience and access to affordable care. By implementing the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan, both organizations aim to improve the overall healthcare journey for Medicare recipients in Western New York.
