Assam CM Promises 50,000 Additional Jobs and Welfare Expansion

Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, made significant announcements during an election rally, assuring the people of the state of 50,000 additional job opportunities on top of the previously pledged one lakh appointments. Emphasizing the government’s commitment to fulfilling promises, Sarma also highlighted plans to expand welfare schemes, particularly benefiting women and families in need.

Speaking at the rally held in Titabor, Jorhat district, Sarma reiterated the government’s achievements in job creation, despite skepticism from opposition parties. He affirmed the commitment to provide 50,000 more jobs across various sectors such as home affairs and education in the coming years.

Furthermore, Sarma underlined the expansion of welfare initiatives, particularly focusing on increasing the beneficiaries of the ‘Orunudoi’ scheme. This scheme, aimed at financially weaker households, provides monthly transfers of Rs 1,250 to women’s bank accounts. Additionally, Sarma announced plans to enhance facilities for families holding ration cards, encompassing free food grains, healthcare, and insurance benefits.

In his address, Sarma urged voters to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a third term, advocating for a ‘double engine government’ to accelerate development. He called upon the electorate not only to endorse the BJP candidate in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls but also to elect BJP nominees in the subsequent 2026 assembly elections, ensuring continuity in developmental efforts.

Moving to Nazira in Sivasagar district, Sarma reiterated the importance of electing BJP candidates for expedited development. Highlighting the potential for faster progress under BJP representation, he pledged to address grievances and prevent opposition leaders from claiming credit for government schemes.

Sarma’s rallies also focused on specific initiatives for marginalized communities, such as the tea tribes in Mariani, Jorhat district. Acknowledging their significant presence in the electorate, he outlined tailored schemes aimed at their upliftment and empowerment.

In conclusion, Himanta Biswa Sarma’s announcements underscore the Assam government’s commitment to job creation and welfare expansion. With promises of additional employment opportunities and enhanced support for vulnerable groups, the government aims to foster inclusive development and secure electoral support for continued governance.
