In a significant move towards advancing India’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) announced a strategic collaboration with Adani Total Energies E-Mobility Ltd (ATEL), a unit of Adani Total Gas, to establish a robust network of EV charging stations nationwide. The partnership, solidified through a memorandum of understanding (MoU), marks a pivotal step in accelerating the adoption of electric mobility across the country.
The MoU outlines a comprehensive roadmap for the development of an extensive EV charging infrastructure, emphasizing the creation of seamless access points for EV users. Through this collaboration, M&M and Adani Total Energies aim to roll out e-mobility solutions that encompass the entire spectrum of customer needs, from discovering and accessing charging stations to navigation and transaction processes.
A key highlight of this partnership is the enhanced accessibility for electric vehicle owners, particularly those driving the popular XUV400 model. With over 1,100 charging stations now accessible to XUV400 customers, the collaboration promises to alleviate concerns regarding charging availability and further incentivize the transition to electric vehicles.
Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at M&M, emphasized the significance of this alliance in fortifying the EV charging infrastructure and delivering an unparalleled experience to customers. “This alliance is a cornerstone in enhancing the EV charging infrastructure, ensuring our customers enjoy seamless access to charging network and digital integration for an unparalleled EV experience,” Nakra stated.
Committed to enhancing customer experiences and expanding the EV ecosystem, M&M continues to onboard multiple partners to drive the adoption of electric vehicles. By fostering collaborations and leveraging innovative solutions, the company aims to catalyze the transition towards sustainable mobility in India.
Suresh P. Manglani, Executive Director & CEO of Adani Total Gas, expressed confidence in the collaboration’s ability to instill trust and encourage broader acceptance of EV technology among consumers. “The collaboration with M&M for the charging infrastructure will bolster the confidence of customers to embrace EV technology as part of the energy transition,” Manglani affirmed.
As India accelerates its efforts towards sustainable transportation solutions, partnerships like M&M and Adani Total Energies are poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of mobility. By investing in infrastructure and fostering collaborative initiatives, stakeholders aim to create an ecosystem conducive to the widespread adoption of electric vehicles, driving towards a greener and more sustainable future for all.
