Amitabh Bachchan Applauds S Jaishankar’s Diplomatic Response on India’s Neighbor Relations

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan recently lauded External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for his astute response regarding India’s relationship with its neighbors. At a book launch event in Delhi, Jaishankar was questioned about whether India was perceived as a bully in the region. In a sharp retort, Jaishankar highlighted India’s benevolent gestures, stating that “big bullies” don’t provide substantial aid or support during times of crisis.

Amitabh Bachchan, impressed by Jaishankar’s remarks, reposted the comment on Twitter, expressing his admiration with a resounding “WAH!! Well said sir” on Monday afternoon. Bachchan’s tweet garnered significant attention, with many praising Jaishankar’s diplomatic finesse and some even speculating about Bachchan’s potential entry into politics.

Jaishankar’s response, captured in a widely-shared video clip, emphasized India’s constructive engagements with its neighbors. He highlighted India’s significant contributions, including financial aid, vaccine supplies, and exceptions to rules for addressing various demands, even amidst global challenges.

The External Affairs Minister also underscored the positive transformations in India’s relations with neighboring countries like Bangladesh and Nepal. He cited the development of essential infrastructure such as power grids, roads, railways, and waterways, facilitating increased connectivity and economic cooperation.

While Amitabh Bachchan appreciated Jaishankar’s diplomatic prowess, he himself was attending a high-profile event in Jamnagar, Gujarat, over the weekend. Alongside his family, Bachchan graced the pre-wedding celebration of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, joining luminaries from various spheres. His presence at the Ambani bash garnered attention, with Bachchan later sharing his experience on his blog.

Accompanied by his wife Jaya Bachchan, son Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai, and daughter Shweta Bachchan, Bachchan enjoyed the festivities with his grandchildren Aaradhya, Agastya, and Navya. The family returned to Mumbai in the early hours of Monday, concluding their memorable sojourn.

As Amitabh Bachchan continues to captivate audiences with his on-screen performances and off-screen engagements, his acknowledgment of S Jaishankar’s diplomatic acumen adds to the discourse surrounding India’s foreign policy and regional dynamics.
