Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has catalyzed significant development in the state of Jharkhand with the unveiling of projects worth over $4.3 billion (Rs 35,700 crore). These initiatives are poised to provide a substantial impetus to the fertiliser, rail, power, and coal sectors in the region. Among the highlights, PM Modi dedicated the Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Ltd (HURL) Sindri Fertiliser Plant to the nation, symbolizing a landmark moment in Jharkhand’s industrial growth.
In addition to inaugurating the HURL Sindri Fertiliser Plant, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several rail projects collectively valued at more than Rs 17,600 crore. These projects are strategically designed to enhance rail connectivity and services across Jharkhand. Notable among them are the 3rd and 4th Line connecting Sone Nagar and Andal, the Tori-Shivpur first and second railway lines, and the Biratoli-Shivpur third railway line. The inauguration of the Mohanpur-Hansdiha new rail line and the Dhanbad-Chandrapura rail line further underscore the government’s commitment to bolstering infrastructure in the region.
During the ceremony, PM Modi flagged off three trains, including the Deoghar-Dibrugarh train service, the MEMU train service between Tatanagar and Badampahar (Daily), and a long-haul freight train departing from Shivpur station. These initiatives are poised to enhance connectivity and facilitate the movement of goods and passengers across Jharkhand and beyond.
In his address to the public gathering in Dhanbad, PM Modi expressed confidence in securing over 400 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He emphasized the slogan of ‘400 paar,’ asserting that it reflects the nation’s trust in his leadership and vision. PM Modi underscored the role of positive development in shaping India’s future while criticizing the opposition Congress for hindering progress.
Highlighting the Congress party’s resistance to development, PM Modi cited the case of the North Karanpura Electricity Power Plant, whose foundation stone was laid by former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. However, the project faced setbacks during Congress-led governance until its revival under PM Modi’s administration. This example, PM Modi suggested, epitomizes the ideological differences between the ruling NDA and the opposition Congress, positioning the former as champions of progress and development.
With these ambitious projects and a resolute vision for the future, PM Modi continues to spearhead transformative initiatives that promise to reshape India’s socio-economic landscape, particularly in regions like Jharkhand.
